At the Falcons School for Girls we are really excited about Web 2.0...if a little scared! Are any members on here involved in teaching under elevens (do you call it Junior Grades in the U.S.?)? It would be great to hear fromanyone who has run any 'flat' projects with younger pupils.
I teach 6th grade Language Arts at a private school in Atlanta, Georgia. I am very interested in working on collaborative projects with other 6th grade classes (11 year olds). I don't have a specific project in mind yet but would be willing to discuss some possibilities in a skype or wiziQ session. You can email me at julia.osteen@gmail.com.
I just completed my Master's thesis in international collaboration where my students (9-11 yrs. old) collaborated with a classroom in Bucaramanga, Colombia (S. America). I am very interested in continuing and expanding my project. You can see what we have done at http://globalexplorers.wikispaces.com
Hi Cheryl. Your Global Explorers project is great - and your resources page has some wonderful links! Thank you. I am the teacher librarian at the primary school of Qatar Academy in Doha. I will be following what you do with interest, and seeing if I can link in in any way.
I am just so impressed at how you are all are connecting. I hope that you'll continue to share and let others know how they can join in. Perhaps some more collaborative work will come out of this.
Hi! I am in Cave Creek, Arizona, and actually just talked to a teacher of 4th grade this week in my district who would be interested in getting involved in some way. Do you have any classes in your area that might be interested who are 10 year olds? (9-10s) ? I also work nearby Jane, who posted earlier! We could work on something together, if you might be interested. Jane, this might be a great way to get going......
YOu can reach me at npratt@ccusd93.org
Let me know your thoughts!!!!

I am very excited to see this discussion and sharing of ideas happening. As more schools come back from summer break I am sure even more connections and projects will emerge. I echo Vicki, please let us know if we can help at all, and also please share what you are doing so others can learn from it.
Just a reminder, Qatar and other middle east schools do not start officially until September, however teachers are back about mid-August. I will be talking to my teachers across K-12 in the last week of August re global collaboration. If anyone is interested in some links/classrooms here let me know.
Julie, I am very interested in getting an elementary classroom to collaborate with in your area. My students are 5th grade/9-10 yrs. old. I am hoping to expand my Global Explorers project. I am in SE Michigan/USA and Colombia will still be on board with us as well. We do not officially have students until September 2nd.
I teach fifth graders (mostly 10 year olds) at a public charter school in Hawaii. I am interested in connecting with another class, but the time difference may make it difficult. If anyone has any ideas for a project we can work on together, even if it's as simple as blogging together, then video conferencing at a later time, that would be great!
Melanie We could connect through podcasts and then Skype if you are interested. Last year my students connected to a class in S. America and this went well. We also had a blog. Check out our wiki at: http://globalexplorers.wikispaces.com If you are interested, email me at web2.0explorer@gmail.com and then we can set up a Skype call to chat. Look forward to hearing from you.
Hi Purti,
That sounds great! I know the festival of "Makar Sankranti" is coming soon and we are very excited to learn about it. Will it be possible for you to take pictures or videos of the kites flying, and also some pictures of your students with…
