Hopes are to connect with some Chinese students to use email, wiki, social bookmarking etc to build the wiki with info, photos (actual from China) and video.

5. Students will be able to complete goal sheets reflecting on their progress throughout the unit.

HI Kelly

In Beijing we have finished school for a 12 day holiday based on National Day October 1st. I am happy to run this by the Grade 6 teachers when we go back on October 12. Sounds like a good opportunity.

Thanks
Julie

Good to hear Julie,

I am generating ideas with the teachers currently. We go on holiday Oct 17-25th; but hopefully we can organize it and get things started.

Perhaps your students would like to look at a village in China that is said to have been built around 5000 B.C.E. This will give them something to build the idea of dynasty on as it occurred long before dynasty was an idea. The website is ahaafoundation.org and you'll find the information under early villages.

Please let me know if this has been helpful. It is important to my research that I hear from classroom teachers. Thank you so much

I guess the pertinent thing is to discuss at the beginning of the year. If the enthusiasm exists there must be possibilities.
