Flat Classrooms

Transforming learning through global collaboration

I am looking into starting a project sometime in mid-February 2009. My students are studying India. I would like to do a project where the students would need to prove how identity of the nation has come about because of geography, religion, history, social levels, and government.
ie: Can you prove your identity from your background? There are some things that will always represent the country.

I was hoping to work with a school to discuss this topic and also have my 8th grade students practice their 21st century skills, especially in communication. Possibility of using email and/or Skype to communicate with each other.

Our school is located in London, England. Anyone interested?

Hi, Kelly. I shared this to post to my blog tomorrow and just twittered it. Perhaps we'll get some interest.
Another way to connect is to go to the top right corner and type India - I turned up two educators. Leave them a public message to see if you can interview their students via skype or via an educational network.

Good luck and let us all know how it goes!
I twittered it and put it on my blog also.
Hi Kelly
We had a class from Banglaore, India join us last week in Qatar at the Flat Classroom Conference. The teacher is Joan Huntley and I am sure she would be very willing to talk about your project and help organise a collaboration between students.
http://flatclassroomconference.ning.com/group/stonehillinternationa... will take you to the school group where you will find Joan and students.

Good luck, and let us know what you end up doing!
