Flat Classrooms

Transforming learning through global collaboration

Iam an instructor in a teacher preparation in the state of Ohio, United States. I would like my students to make connections with their counterparts in other countries. I firmly believe that if they participate in dialog across borders, it will enrich them and broaden their outlook. It is to be hoped that they will then continue the process with their own students when they are teaching. in an increasingly globalized world, we need to work harder to understand and respect each other.

I would also like to connect with others engaged in training teachers. I have some international experience in South Africa, Zimbabwe, and China, where I visited schools and talked with teachers. I may not be able to visit, but I would still like to talk.

Kathy, thanks for reaching out!  Yes, we want to talk to teacher educators, and in include them in what we are doing with Flat Classroom. I encourage you to join the teacher educators group on this NIng as well.

I am answering the email you sent me now as well!  Great to make a connection with you.

Hi Kathleen,

Your words have sparked the creation of a discussion forum on the Ning to share ideas for Teacher PD - projects for teacher PD has been created. The forums on the ning are going to be an important part of our upcoming book and this is an important piece of the conversation.

Hi Kathleen,

I'm a newly graduated teacher (second year out) from Australia living and working in Indonesia. I'd love to be in contact with your pre-graduate teachers. Later this year I hope to expand my PLN not just online but right here in Bandung by reaching out to the local university that specialises in teaching English language school teachers and networking with the pre-grads as well as lecturers.
