Comment by Avylon Magarey on April 2, 2013 at 5:44am Avylon, the video looks great - ok, I would leave a comment on the Youtube page with some reference material. The problem is of course that not everyone can access the course wiki. They can access this Ning - so I encourage you to also add a short blog post (a few sentence sis fine!) sharing how you created this and linking to references/credits as well. Thanks!
Comment by Avylon Magarey on April 2, 2013 at 2:57am Avylon, well done to get this finished already! Can you make the video public? Right now it is private and I cannot view it. Thanks.

Dear fellow flat classroom teachers,
Our school, Faith Lutheran College is located in the Barossa Valley, South Australia and we are looking for partners in a global project. We are very fortunate that four colleagues from our school have had the opportunity to take part in the flat classroom teacher course to develop our skills in this area.
Last year we implemented a collaborative research project with our year 8 students (12/13 year olds). This year we would like to expand the project so that we have global as well as local collaboration throughout the project. We would have loved to have joined a current flat classroom project however, the way our time table has been set up means that we would not be able to contribute to the project effectively.
We are happy to negotiate the topic or theme of the project but are leaning towards students researching new technologies that are used within education. The collaborative tasks could include co-creating a Wiki and also a short video on their topic (similar to what we are dong as part of our class now).
The subject area of the project is called ‘Open Learning’ at our school and students have a 100 minute lesson per week plus homework time to work on their projects. The class runs for an 8-10 week period (depending on the term) and we have approximately 40 students in the class for that period (we usually have 4 teachers in the class at once).
We would like to start the project next term and then repeat it in terms 3 and 4 with different groups of students.
Our term dates are as follows:
Term 2 – Monday 29th of April – Friday 28th of June
Term 3 – Monday 22nd of July – Friday 27th of September
Term 4 – Monday 14th of October – Tuesday 3rd of December
If you would like any further information about being a part of this project we would love to hear from you via email,
Looking forward to hearing from you,
Roseanne Madden, Kerry Schwier, Jonathan Dallwitz and Avylon Magarey
I would like to check that all certified teachers in FCCT 13-1 have moderator links - these will be to the room EACH time. If you have any concerns contact lisa.
