Hi Ladies!I read the email regarding the conversation Tasha and Roxanne had with project ideas. There's one more dimension I'd like to us venture in to with this. I find that most connections I've…Continue

Comment by Tasha Cowdy on November 29, 2012 at 5:45am Hi Paula, my personal twitter is @tashacowdy and our class account is @yiskc. We usually check our twitter feed once a day, in the afternoon. Our class blog is here.
This may be useful resource: Voicethread in the PK-2 classroom.
Comment by Paula Rushia on November 25, 2012 at 12:21pm Tasha, Thanks for starting the google doc. We return from Thanksgiving break tomorrow and I'll share it with my class. We have lots of questions for you too we can add. We are not blogging yet, my class blog is mainly a way to keep parents updated. I have a twitter account, but have been inactive. What's your id?
Roxanne, I loved your three wordles on the team page. I know my kids would love to respond to and ask some questions of their own. What a great format!
I just received an email from Lisa about making a google doc to come up with a list of materials to use in our game. I've made a google doc https://docs.google.com/document/d/1kBtSTiKNNtnJB_LjIeVLZxGCRZc7Piq... If each class can choose a material and add to it by Wednesday it will give us some time to get started.
Thoughts?
Comment by Tasha Cowdy on November 18, 2012 at 11:47pm Paula , thanks for attending the meeting -sorry I couldnt get cover for my class. Happy to make contact with your class. Skype wont work for us because of the time zones. My kids have communicating with K classes through twitter and google doc (teacher scribes as chn dictate, each class writes in a different colour). Also happy to email, but google doc or twitter allows everyone to follow. Would your children be interested in a google conversation with my class? Others could join in if and when they wish? Ive started a doc.Click here for the link. I'll have my students leave a message this afternoon. If interested, your children could read and respond. No pressure. Are you on twitter? I find that's the best way to communicate. My children LOVE seeing who has tweeted them about what! Also, do you have a class blog? My chn are well into leaving comments on other Kindergarten blogs.
We finish school on the 13th December (that the 12th December in North America time!) Not much time left for us! I suggest making a deadline for ideas on inventive game materials and then making a decision based on whatever ideas we have by that time. I need to start on the game by the beginning of December. Im thinking View from the Window second week in Dec, then school is over for us.
Would love to work on a collaborative game creation, but not sure it will work out time-wise, given that you are out this week and we only have two weeks in december.
Comment by Paula Rushia on November 18, 2012 at 6:14pm My kids loved seeing all the handshakes this past week. We particularly enjoyed how different they were from each other. We have lots of questions for each group! Anyone interested in either emailing or skyping? We only have school on Mon/Tues this week because of our Thanksgiving holiday, but will be on a more regular schedule through December.
Update from conference call tonight- I was the only team member who could make the meeting, so no decisions were made. We discussed the View from the Window portion of the project- this can be a collage, a video, etc. I think Kristen Mendl is going to set up a symbaloo for us to each add our own too.
We should come up with a date for components of our project. I'm not sure when schools break for the holidays. I'm in school until Dec. 21st.
When should indiv class games be added on the Voicethread?
When will we decide on materials for the games we will create? Need ideas from all group mates here!
Who is interested in co-creating games asynchronously with groups made up from members of various schools? If not all are interested, maybe those who are can figure out the method of communication we want to use?
Goal: Real time connections with groups in our team
That's all for now!
P.S. Tasha, it sounds like groups had issues with eyejot, so it's probably not worth even look at right now.
Comment by Tasha Cowdy on November 15, 2012 at 3:01am Interested in eyejot but thinking realistically, Im not sure that I have time to learn a new tool right now. I will see if I can get to it. Sounds great but I am struggling to keep all my balls up in the air at the moment! Let me see how it goes ...
Comment by Tasha Cowdy on November 15, 2012 at 2:59am Maybe you guys could decide on the materials for the game the children will create? I particularly like Paula's ideas of yarn and popsicle sticks, and would add a couple of pebbles! : ) (All things that are easily accessible, at least for me; dont have easy access to tennis balls, or, surprisingly, cardboard.) Happy to go with whatever you guys decide.
Maybe you could think about what our final product will look like? (The collaborative project). Once we have a clearer picture of how it will look, it should be easier to think about how to share it.
Comment by Tasha Cowdy on November 15, 2012 at 2:57am Ah! Unfortunately i cant make it as that is my monday morning and I am teaching. Sorry. It will also be monday morning for Roxanne. Im happy to go with the flow, whatever you guys decide.
