Interest in Flat Classrooms
Have been a member of the sounding board for the flathorizon project and flat classroom project 2008 and have found both my students and myself (and then parents of these students) were empowered with learning outcomes that have to be experienced to understand the depth of these outcomes. I will also attend the flatclassroomconference in 2009 in Qatar.

This has been a great experience giving me an insight into another dimension of the projects. Following is some of the learning that took place:-

Collaborating on a global scale with fellow judges, finding appropriate times to meet and agree on judging criteria

The time pressure involved in getting the job…

Assess: Challenge #9

The assessment process on a collaborative wiki has to be tailored to the project given. The assessment criteria needs to be reconsidered each time a collaborative wiki project is undertaken as the projects, procedures and outcomes may be different.

In the global storytelling project, students collaboratively pooled the book trailers onto a common site, but worked mainly as individuals in the creation of their own book trailer. However, there were several groups of students from…

Collaborate and Communicate Challenge #8

Global Storytelling wass a collaborative project using a wiki that involved four schools, five teachers and an Australian community group – the Melbourne Writers Festival. Students created book trailers on a book of their choosing often reflecting the different cultures involved.

Working collaboratively and globally on the wiki differed to…
