Sounds as if the first thing to do is get a classroom blog set up which we will begin to use. Then we will be ready to go in any direction that emerges from our group. We don't begin school until Sept. 14th. When you mention a Favorite Toy project...

Bob, Not sure if this will get to you --you were the right Bob and I finally did get to your website/blog. Very impressive list of global connections. I am curious how you managed them all. Suggests to me that you exchanged similar information wit...

Nerine: Not sure If I ever answered this, but we would be interested in participating. Our school is very small, so couldn't be a match class to class, but we can be flexible and fit into any plan. Not sure age of child is most important. Let me k...

Lin, There seems to be several things going on at the same time because most of us haven't done this before. Find the Cultural Collaboration project through Matthew Stark's page. Several of us are going in that direction. Let me know if you are in...

Betsye,
Haven't heard anything new. I'm pretty sure that Nerine doesn't start school until the end of Sept. Matthew posted a new activity on this link: http://culturecollaboration.org/. Go there and check it out. I want to give you my school email address. Like everyone else, I'm extremely busy right now and don't always have time to read my Flat Classrooms comments. If there is something you want me to read right away, please feel free to email me...I'll reply faster. mfreeman@rcsnc.org

Betsye,
I have joined Matthew Stark's group. I thought you were going to do the same. Thanks for the update on Jackie's project. I didn't realize that her post was from last year until she sent me a message.
Let me know if you join Matthew's "global project" group.

Interest in Flat Classrooms
Ever since reading The World Is Flat, I have been interested in building the skills Friedman cited into our school. I am finding learning Web 2.0 skills fascinating and challenging and often look to my students for guidance. I am now interested in exploring the global connections that will help students understand how flat the world can really be.
