Hi Eather
Just to let you know we are looking for more classrooms for our Flat Classroom Project 2008 and I was wondering if you or one of your teachers was willing and ready to come into the project this time?
We have also announced our Flat Classroom Conference to be held in Qatar in January. Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks
Julie

Hi Eather
I have just sent a message to everyone in the Primary School Group to try to set up a collaborative project with a primary school in Bangladesh for our Grade 2 students at Qatar Academy in Doha. Do you know of any teachers who might be interested?

Hello! I am new to flat classrooms. Please visit my member page to learn a bit about me. I have had for several years a non profit called Global Visits which has linked students in the US in projects with students and their instructors in the Middle East, Central Asia and Africa. Our web site has just been transformed this summer into a social networking site, and we are very excited! Please visit us at www.globalvisits.com, become a member and get involved with your students. And, please visit with me!

Hi Julie,
Many thanks for your prompt reply. Our all schools are the Secondary level and we have some partner and associate schools, they are mixed from primary, secondary and college. As you know that we do global/ national collaborative project with our students and for this every month we implement a lesoon plan to schools. The lesson plan topics were the common golbal issue like my community, garbage cleaning, culture, food, human rights, child rights, health, dance etc. By participating the collaborative project they have experience about community service, volunteerism etc, and they have also experience to use ICT as a communication tools such as: computer MS Office, Internet browsing, email, online forum(www.connect-bangladesh.org/forum), wikispaces(http://gcyp.wikispaces.com/), Web blog.
As your suggesstion I will invite our school teachers to create their own profile on the Flat Classroom Ning site very soon.

Eather, welcome to the Flat Classrooms Ning! I am so excited you are with us and look forward to working with you. I created a blog post on this NIng today about how to flatten your classroom and mentioned you in this.
I got your message today asking about what to do next. I suggest the following:
1. Let me and others on this Ning know what age and groupings of students you have. Are they Primary or Secondary school level? What experience have they had, what sort of project(s) are you looking to do?
2. Invite your teachers to join the Ning as well and create their own profiles. This way they can become connected themselves and be more involved in choosing classroom partners and learning more about how to use Web 2.0 tools.
3. Start a discussion or write a blog post telling us more about the projects you have already been involved with. We would love to hear more!

Interest in Flat Classrooms
We are working in online education program under the Global Connections and Exchange (GCE) Program funded by US State Department by 27 Internet Learning Center(ILC) throughout Bangladesh. Those 27 ILCs are located in 27 schools where students, teachers and community users participate. Under this program students, teachers and community users have gathered knowledge on ICT such as: online collaborative project, online forum, video conference, yahoo/skype messenger, Web blog, wiki space, Google Earth etc.

The Flat Classroom Project is very much relevant with our online program. We think we can implement this project in our GCE schools and we hope that the students and teachers will be interested to do such kind of project.

Hi Ryan Yes, we may be interested here in Beijing, China. What response have you had so far? A cultural exchange is an excellent idea. I am sure it will align with a UOI here. Julie Lindsay Beijing (BISS) International School
