Hi everyone,
I'm looking for classes to participate in an Olympic Project for the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver, Canada. I have a grade 5&6 class that will be working on the project but I anticipate that many different grades will be able to work on the activities either as individuals or as a class group.

Looking for classes to participate.
My first literature ela unit this year is Greek Myths. (I'm an information junkie and love to play with ideas...if someone is interested. If not, no worries.)

My class haas a blog http://www.haffordgrade5and6.blogspot.com/
On it, I've got a link to Podomatic with some of the podcasts we did last year. I've also got some examples of slideshows we did with Animoto (I got a free school account) using our pictures and quotes from Twelfth Night. We've also experimented with Voicethread with mixed success.
I'm pretty open to experimentation (I'm hoping that the staff this year is as blissfully ignorant of using technology so I can use it as much as I ddi last year!!!)
I once tried setting up a Blogmeister account for my each class, but I really couldn't get it to work as I would have liked. I got frustrated and just went back to Blogger. My class has its own GMail account: hafford5and6@gmail.com. Last year, we started working a bit with Google Docs. I had each of my students sign up for an account (no one said we couldn't) and we did some work with the docs and the slideshows.
I'd like my students to know something of the geography and lifestyles of people in Regina, as well as just getting to know each other.
Did your class correspond with Jim Ellis in North Battleford last year??
