Hi I hope this message will reach all those who responded to my original request for collaboration with our Grade 4 classes. The team leader of the Grade 4 classes asked me to pass on the following message: "Thank you to everyone who responded ove…

Hi Leslie. I teach fourth grade at an independent school in Charlotte, NC. A colleague and I will be teaching a blogging class to about 7-10 3rd-5th graders as an extended day activity. I was wondering if your class would consider blogging with our…

Hi Jessica As soon as school opens at the end of this month, I will be talking to the teachers, and getting back to you with more detail. It will be great for our students to have contact with someone from the Philippines. I would love to know more…

Thanks Nerine, I work at Hillingdon. We are going for our authorization of MYP in April, so we are in full swing! Look forward to connecting with you, on any level! Kelly

Hi Kelly This sounds very interesting, and I will be in touch once the teachers. I had a look at your website, and wondered which campus you are on, and whether you follow PYP and MYP? I was staying in Cobham in 2007, and visited ASC - what an amazi…

I have a science/English teacher who also teaches 5th grade and is interested in collaborating this year as well. She teaches both 5th grade classes- so a total of 40students approximately. We were discussing first instructing the students on email…

Hi Betsye I will not be able to confirm anything definitely until I meet with the teachers - and we only open at the end of September. However I very much hope that we will be able to set something up, and I will get back to you as soon as I know.

Nerine: Not sure If I ever answered this, but we would be interested in participating. Our school is very small, so couldn't be a match class to class, but we can be flexible and fit into any plan. Not sure age of child is most important. Let me kno…

Hello Nerine: It is not too late for next semester. NOw would be the ideal time for people to meet, share ideas and plan a project for next semester. Would that be possible?

Hello Nerine,

Your project sounds good. My six grade students would be share the project idea with your students or we have a partner school they teach one-five grade level. If you want I can invite that school to participate this project.

Thanks

Anjuman

I agree. I totally want to keep talking, but our kids are going to need more time to before they're ready to jump in too. Maybe later on in the year would work better for us too!!

That's just fine. Let me know when you are ready to start and we'll start slow. We have a lot of groundwork to lay here before we can move forward also; but let's be sure to stay connected.

Hello Nerine: your project sounds ambitious and exciting. At this point, I do not have schools to refer. Our points of contact are mainly higher ed, with some also at high school level.

I see you were in Botswana. What a wonderful country. We lived in southern Africa for eleven years: Lesotho for seven years, South Africa for four. I consider southern Africa my second home, and miss it dearly. We visited Botswana several times, mostly in our land rover to trek about in Chobe and the Okavango.

What years were you in Botswana?

Betty

Hi Nerine

Your project sounds great! The message via the PYP Group is a good start to attract participation however can I suggest you also add a blog post to this Ning so that we can all see what your needs are.
Also, we have 4 members from Bangladesh, if you search members you will find this http://flatclassrooms.ning.com/profiles/members/?q=bangladesh
I have been in contact with Eather Newaz and suggest you contact her about your project.
Good luck!

Hey Nerine. I looked at Lisa's wiki. Looks great and I totally agree. Looks like a good match for us to join in. I see Lisa is fine with us jumping in as well, so that is probably a good place to start. I'm still playing around with the Voicethread idea for having our kids pick their favorite authors and comment about them too. Hope your year is starting good too. So far mine's good- the kids are great and I got new computers and a new smartboard. I've got technology fever right now!! :)

Hello Nerine. How do you send an email to members of a group without it appearing on the group page.

I've emailed your letter to some teachers here in Baku. One is from Indin and may have some contacts for you. The other teaches Grade 2.

I guess the pertinent thing is to discuss at the beginning of the year. If the enthusiasm exists there must be possibilities.
