Sorry for the delay in communication - are you still looking to set up contacts? We started school shortly after you but September is always a whirlwind month : )
Your projects look amazing! I am looking to start some similar things this year, although to date we've only really worked on the TimeProject.org - great fun and a nice introduction to flat classrooms though!

We worked with Jim's class last year on an Iditarod project in Feb. & March http://iditarod-collaborative-project.wikispaces.com/. We also shared Friday writing assignments using our class blog pages. Jim and I alternated planning the Friday writing then we commented to each other's class.
I'd like to work on digital story telling this fall so maybe we could incorporate that into stories about our communities/city.
