Hello Vicki!! I really enjoyed talking with you as well. You are such an inspiration to me!! The trail that you and Julie are laying will only serve to create an optimum learning environment for our youth. That's why I chose to go into education for my second career because my passion is helping others, mainly our youth! You have a great family and your husband, being from Ga Tech, sounds like a great person as well (As long as they don't play Navy in football). I'm sure if you would have chose to take your DC internship further, it would be Vicki instead of Hillary! :o) Thanks for the luck and I'll keep you posted!

Well, really ethnocentrism is how they are centered upon their own culture and unaware of others. This is actually one of the greatest changes I've observed in my own classroom. I believe my students become less ethnocentric. This is a great topic for research. I enjoyed talking to you on the way to the airport -- your military career is amazing as well as your background as a graduate of the Naval Academy. I expect you to make a big difference in education. You are very positive and jumped in with both feet. It is obvious that you catch on quickly. Good luck and let us know how we may help.

Hello Anne and Julie!! My plan is to update everyone via this Ning as my research continues to mature. As of right now, I'm in the beginning phases of my dissertation. I'm working on my main dissertation question but what I have so far is as follows:

When teachers engage in collaborative networking across time zones, how do their students respond to Ethnocentrism? Right now I'm currently gathering all the research that's related to this topic and then I'll be able to find a gap in research. Looking forward to discussing this with both of you and the many more that become part of this discussion. Have a great Day!!

Hi Craig I'm in the process of creating a unit of work for my Year 9/10 students that has them research and evaluate Web2 applications and the effect on theirs and others lives. I'd love to find out your thinking and how you are going to go about your research

Hi Purti, That sounds great! I know the festival of "Makar Sankranti" is coming soon and we are very excited to learn about it. Will it be possible for you to take pictures or videos of the kites flying, and also some pictures of your students with…

I guess the pertinent thing is to discuss at the beginning of the year. If the enthusiasm exists there must be possibilities.
